James Altucher is an American hedge fund manager, entrepreneur, and bestselling author of books including I Was Blind But Now I See and Choose Yourself. Louis James is Chief Metals & Mining Investment Strategist at Casey Research. Louis James' background in physics, economics, and technical writing prepared him well for his role as senior editor of the International Speculator and Casey Investment Alert. Like Doug Casey, Louis constantly travels the world, visiting highly prospective geological targets, grilling management and company geologists, and interviewing natives in a variety of languages to find out what they really think (he's fluent in French and Spanish, and speaks a little German and Russian). Brent Cook is an economic geologist and mining analyst who has been involved in the minerals exploration and mining business for 34 years. During this time he has evaluated and valued grassroots through feasibility stage projects involving nearly all deposit types in over 60 countries. In 1997 he got tired of promoters making all the money on questionable properties while he was left standing soaking wet in the jungle and joined Rick Rule at Global Resource Investments (now Sprott-Global). He was principal mining analyst at Global until going independent again in 2002. Since 2002 he has been an independent analyst and advisor to several investment funds and high net worth individuals. He is also author of the investment letter Exploration Insights that covers the mining sector, focusing on what he is buying, selling and avoiding with his own money.
Leslie Haines is editor in chief of Oil and Gas Investor magazine who began her journalism career in 1980 in Williston, North Dakota, at the Williston Daily Herald. She became the energy and business reporter for the Midland Reporter-Telegram in Midland, Texas, in 1982 and 1983. She joined Hart Energy Publishing in Denver in late 1983 as a copy editor. Soon thereafter she began writing for Western Oil and Gas World . In 1985, she joined the staff of Oil and Gas Investor magazine. She was named managing editor two years later and became editor in January 1992.
